What does an Ajax system actually cost?
Most home Ajax kits range from $2,500 to $7,000 installed, depending on home size, sensor count, and whether cameras are included. You own the hardware outright — no leasing, no equipment fees. Optional 24/7 monitoring is typically $20–$50/month through a third-party station you choose.
Do I need a long-term contract?
No. Ajax doesn't require a contract — you own the system outright. If you want 24/7 professional monitoring, you choose the company and the contract length. Most homeowners can self-monitor through the Ajax app for free.
Is Ajax really wireless? What about power outages?
Yes — every sensor runs on long-life batteries (most last 5–7 years). The hub has built-in battery backup that keeps the system armed and reporting during power outages. Cellular backup options are also available for monitored systems.
How is Ajax better than Ring, Nest, or SimpliSafe?
Ring and Nest are consumer-grade — they work for casual use but aren't certified to professional security standards. SimpliSafe is similar but more closed off. Ajax is engineered to European EN-Grade 2/3 professional standards, has industry-leading wireless reliability, and integrates security, cameras, fire, water, and automation in one platform. It's professional-grade equipment in a beautiful consumer-friendly package.
Can Ajax integrate with my existing smart home?
Partially. Ajax works with Apple HomeKit (via integration), Google, and Amazon for voice control and basic automation. It also has open API access for advanced integrations. We'll confirm compatibility with your specific setup at quote time.
Do you do commercial Ajax installs too?
Yes. Ajax has dedicated commercial product lines for restaurants, retail, offices, and warehouses — including EN-54 certified fire alarm systems for commercial code compliance. Get in touch and we'll scope the right solution.
What if I move? Can I take the system with me?
Absolutely. Since Ajax is wireless and battery-powered, you can uninstall and reinstall it at a new home easily. We can also handle the move-out / move-in installation as a quick service if you'd prefer.
